To maintain Certification status, a certified member of a joint health and safety committee (JHSC) in Ontario must complete a Refresher program within three years of completing Certification.

About the Event

In this program participants revisit important elements of Certification training. This includes key aspects of a legally required workplace health and safety program designed to implement the workplace health and safety policy, also required by law. Specific duties and responsibilities for JHSC members, employers and other workplace parties as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) are covered as well.
In keeping with the hazard-based approach to protecting workers that forms the basis of OHSA, this program explores the shortcomings of behaviour-based safety and why hazard elimination or exposure control is most effective in safeguarding worker well-being and meeting legal obligations
