Please note this training includes 3 Modules. Module 1 is self-directed, and Module 2 & 3 take place in the virtual classroom. Details are below:
Module 1: Registered participants will be required to complete the 2 hour self-directed Module 1 by 8 p.m. Thursday February 11, 2021 to be provided access to Module 2 & 3.
Module 2 & 3: Participants who complete Module 1 will be provided Zoom access for Saturday February 13 & Sunday February 14, 2021, 9:00 am to 12:30 pm, 3 hours of virtual class time each day.
Completion of Module 1 and attendance for all 6 virtual hours Module 2 & 3 is required for certification. Missing Module 2 or 3 can only be made up by joining another session from the beginning of Module 2.
This is the third training event in our Mental Health First Aid Training series, which will provide valuable information on how to unpack the stigma surrounding mental health. Participants will learn and practice social interactive skills and develop confidence in personal abilities to help themselves and others while on and off the job!

Course participants will learn how to recognize signs that a person may be experiencing a decline in their mental well-being or a mental health crisis and encourage that person to:
- Talk about declines in their mental well-being
- Discuss professional and other supports that could help with recovery to improved mental well-being
- Reach out to these support
- Assist in a mental health or substance use crisis
- Use MHFA actions to maintain one’s own mental well-being
Course will be delivered by Cindy Krysac, an experienced and trusted instructor who has provided Mental Health First Aid training for over 1,100 participants. She applies evidence-based teaching methods to create an effective and comfortable learning experience, while inspiring participants with her knowledge and passion for mental health awareness and actions.
Mental Health First Aid Canada is an evidence-based program of The Mental Health Commission of Canada. Mental Health First Aid training is offered in alignment with the Ontario Building Trades Mental Health Strategy.
